The region to create the concept of Pokemon Training as we know it. Across the world from Unova, Kanto is a modernizing region. Over the years the region has blossomed, and trainers from all over the world come to Kanto to trace the footsteps of legendary trainers.

A region that prides itself on traditionalism. Johto's League is connected to Kanto's, and together they form the conglomerate known as the Indigo League. Johto's mountains are home to ancient hideaways, and myth and wonder hold true even in the relatively modern streets of Goldenrod City.

A region steeped in nature. Hoenn is more sparsely populated than other regions. Humans that stay here are often seeking a quiet countryside or a beautiful vacation. Hoenn is very in-tune with the ocean around them, and the balance of land and sea makes the region unique.

The gods' region. While Kanto's trainers are legendary, it is said that Sinnoh's tend to be the most powerful. The cold region of Sinnoh is home to most of the world's legendaries, and the portals to the creators' realms are most easily opened here.

A massive region known for its fashion and food. Kalos is the source of most mega-evolution research, and a few trainers have arrived there to pursue ways to make themselves stronger. Tourists aren't uncommon, either, and backpacking through Kalos is a favorite vacation for many.

If you want to cross planes of existence, you'll probably get to Giratina's realm first. She serves taquitos sometimes. Don't ask what's in them. Not because it's dangerous, she just bought them from the store and she doesn't know.

A sunny, tropical region deeply rooted in its own culture, Alola is a vacation hotspot. Here, the bond between human and pokemon is emphasized, and those with a deep enough connection can even utilize legendary Z-Moves in battle. A newcomer to the League challenge, Alola uses a series of trials to judge the worth of a trainer, rather than gyms.
